Opposites
Here's something fun I learned while working in Tennessee: the shell on M&M's are soft when they are made. It's weird biting into them. Something you don't want to bite into, though, right when they are made are Skittles. They are rock hard!

Fish Grill
I got in late last night because I drove to the wrong hotel and had to back track a bit. Then I worked about 11 hours today, so I'm sure I will crash soon after posting this. Since I am staying in Chattanooga this week, I have a few more restaurant options. This is where I ate tonight: http://www.bonefishgrill.com/
Unfortunately, what I ordered isn't on their online menu. I had a sampler platter with mashed potatoes. The fried fish had avacodos on top of it, so that's what hooked me. Very good!

Getting home late?
Back to the blog
Well, I thought I would have posted every day this week, but that obviously didn't happen. Now I am sitting in the Chattanooga airport waiting to go home to my girls.
Last night my host from the plant took me and several people I worked with this week to the best restaurant in Cleveland, TN. It's the kind of place where you would pay $100 for 6 ounces of kobe beef. The food was fantastic and the creme brulee was the best I ever had. Unfortunately, we had waited for quite some time for different members of the party to show up before we could order. Having been the first person to arrive, I ended being at the restaurant for 3 hours! So much for getting to bed early for my 7am flight.
Check out their menu at http://www.baldheadedbistro.com/menu.htm Glad I wasn't paying!

Sharing my name
I know this is not correct because when I Google my name, there are 2 others in Texas alone with my name!

Welcome to Tennessee!
I made it safely to my hotel in Cleveland, Tennessee an hour later than planned because for some reason our flight crew had to go up to DFW airport and back to Houston. I went ahead and unpacked because I had to at least iron what I'll wear to work tomorrow.
Jim mentioned a little of why I'm in TN this week (and next) but it's late, so I'll go into more tomorrow (which is today for me!).
I miss my girls already! Have a safe trip to College Station!

The world we live in...
Today I observed some people boarding a plane at our local airport. These seemingly innocent people having to practically strip down to their skivvies, put their possessions in a little tub, & walk through the detectors. Amazing. No one looked dangerous to me, but it's standard procedure now. I just sat there dumb-founded (I haven't ridden a plane in a while- can you tell?) I saw women have to take off all of their jewelry, take their hair pins out & men undo their belts, pull out their pockets, remove their shoes and hats. Remarkable. What a world. Sad, isn't it?

Hotdog & Yeehaw
Well I couldn't think of a title, so there ya go!
Well Todd & I woke up at 4ish this morning to massive thunderstorms. We got on-line to check for tornado warnings since Dish Network doesn't do bad weather. We were under a thunderstorm warning- with possible large hail & potential tornadoes. So, we laid there for a while listening. The town sirens are in our neighborhood, so I was certain I'd hear them if it got too bad. But it all passed without much damage other than a little sleep deprivation- but hey, I wouldn't know a good night's sleep if it bit me on the face! I hope Leah's able to get out alright. It's a blessing to have lived in Texas all our lives & not to have been directly effected by a tornado.
So today I am dragging my feet. I cleaned like a mad woman yesterday. I have a spectacularly clean closet now, I may just have to take a picture...oh wait I did! Look at that clean floor! The trash bag is full of clothes I don't wear or don't fit. I wish I knew who would want them, they are still in good condition... I had some little helpers pop up to help me with the pictures. I love this picture even though the focus is off.
Today I am working on closing the SU! workshop from last night & I have our monthly RS Scrapbooking group coming over tonight... I need to make some cards & I need to go to the store- but I don't feel like going anywhere! Ever have those days?
Here is a shot of Ava & her healing progress. It's looking so good! She was being silly when I took this- I think she knows you aren't suppose to close your eyes when taking a picture, so naturally- she did. :) She excitedly told me she had closed her eyes...gee thanks. Nice attempt at a smile, eh?

Todd's...he says...um, maybe?
What's Your True Color?
My Result: Black
Your color is black. The color of night. Serene and mysterious, black conjures up images of elegant evening gowns, dashing tuxedos, and gleaming limousines. Traditionally a symbol of success, black also represents power and an uncompromising demand for perfection. Not surprisingly, you tend to set challenging goals for yourself and do whatever it takes to achieve them — your strength of character is second to none. This unfaltering determination, along with your natural elegance, impresses people. But keep in mind that your personality might be intimidating to some. Try to temper your demanding side with a little softness — trust us, it won't kill you. Overall, though, black is the color of professionalism and achievement, which means it's clearly the color for you.
What are you?

Hmmm...sounds like I might be an orange!
What do you think?
What's Your True Color?
My Result: Orange
You're a bold, confident orange. A warm, powerful color that indicates a strong, welcoming personality, orange is the mark of people who are social and extroverted by nature. Vibrant, with an upbeat attitude, you have a bright, inviting demeanor. Energetic and fun-loving, you're a real friend-magnet. Your easy charm and unassuming manner make you the sort of person people want to meet and get to know better. Well-rounded and fun to be around, you enjoy helping others, so it's no surprise that orange also symbolizes attraction. Orange is an extraordinary color — for an extraordinary person.

A Nice Birthday!
Well Todd had a terrific birthday. We had a few of his friends over for burgers & hot dogs. It was a nice turn-out & a lot of fun. Ava made him wear this hat- if you look closely it says "Birthday Girl" -he wouldn't disappoint his girls even at the cost of a little manhood. :) The birthday cake I made was with Todd in mind, and it was yummy! It's an interpretation of Ooey-Googy Caramel Cake found in the Better Homes & Garden's Recipe Book. I, of course, added a few yummy additions. The chocolate is ganache- which is really easy to make, and the caramel was replaced by Dulce De Leche- which takes 8 hours to cook in a crock pot. There were bits of Toffee, too. It was great. It's a cake for a crowd that will finish a cake- and we did, because it will only last 24 hours & then it's just mush. Todd took the last piece for lunch today. Anyhow, it's a keeper.
Ava got her stitches out easy peasy & is back to her adventurous self. You can click on her face to see it upclose- note that we had just put ointment on it. :)
So today was suppose to be the zoo with the playgroup but I think we'll just take it easy.
Hope everyone has a terrific day!
