Hello Black week!

Well the Internet continues to act up which is unbelievably annoying. It's on right now, but at some point I woke up in the middle of the night & could see the indicator bars- and it was off again. So it works when it wants to I guess. *Goldilocks and the littlest bear*Last night we went to the ward's Pioneer Celebration at the Waco Water park. It was very fun. The girls had a good time & we stayed until Sydnee started to get cold. I wore an entire outfit, just my style, for swimming. Besides that, when I went to put on a bathing suit, I couldn't find but 2 (and I have a ton). One was so stretched out that I would have had to be on alert & the other- which I wore- is a little more revealing than I like. Anyhow, I must have given my other suits away at some point. Oops. Maybe I'll get one end of season. Ava & Sydnee were fun to watch in the water. Sydnee was especially fearless, not afraid of putting her face in the water & going off to do stuff away from us (we stayed right behind her, that's on thing that's good about having 2 kids with 2 parents!) So this week is black week. Last night we had Lime Chicken with Black Bean sauce, yogurt parfait with blackberries, pumpernickel bread, and a fruit salad- because we needed something else and I couldn't think of anything else. It was good, Todd really liked the chicken- but it took all day, so I imagine it was a 1-time deal. :) Since it is black week, I believe we'll be going up to see the trains tomorrow.

Here is the Yogurt Parfait, it's so yum!

Yogurt Parfait Salad

32 oz. vanilla yogurt

1 small box of vanilla or banana pudding

8 oz. of cool whip

1 bag of frozen berries

Mix together yogurt, box of pudding and cool whip. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Before serving fold in frozen berries. Enjoy!

Internet Issues!

I'm sure you have been wondering where the heck I've been this week. It has been a busy week but the main factor in my lack of posts has been my internet not working. It stops working everyday around nap time. Gee, thanks. I have to give a talk tomorrow & my progress has been immensely delayed since I couldn't look up the talks I wanted to quote. Anyhow, thanks to my Mom I ran up to the library at one point and used that computer so I would have something to work with & I'll be polishing it up today.

We've had fun celebrating yellow this week, here are some fun pictures:
Dressing up YellowEating Yellow with our LOVELY center piece designed by the girls Menu: Mexican Chicken, Mexican Salad (fritos are yellow!), corn & Yellow cake for dessert!
And lastly, we went to go see Dark Knight last night- good movie, a little too realistic- if you can imagine that! It made us ponder the evil in the world. It's also no wonder that Heath Ledger had a difficult time walking away from this role, the Joker is VERY dark. There were certainly times when we thought something was about to happen, were on the edge of our seats, waiting with bated breath! And Christopher Bale is always nice to look at- hee hee!

Didn't make the connection...

I gave the opening prayer in sacrament meeting. When I sat back down Ava said, "Daddy, you missed the prayer!"

Week of Blue-ness

Blue week has been a lot of fun lately, take a look! I do wish our blue family picture would have been lighter, it didn't look dark when we took it! This is our FHE treat...interesting eh?

I might never get there!

Humility:
To speak as little as possible of oneself.
To mind one's own business.
Not to want to manage other people's affairs.
To avoid curiosity.
To accept contradiction and correction cheerfully.
To pass over the mistakes of others.
To accept insults and injuries.
To accept being slighted, forgotten, and disliked.
Not to seek to be specially loved and admired.
To be kind and gentle even under provocation.
Never to stand on one's dignity.
To yield in discussion even though one is right.
To choose always the hardest.
