Daddy-Daughter Day

Since Lindsey had a couple of Stampin' Up! events today, the girls and I ran some errands to prepare for Memorial Day and visited the Mayborn Museum. The 3 of us had visited once last year and really enjoyed it, although the girls probably didn't remember much, especially Sydnee. Fortunately, the rain let up so we didn't have to worry about getting wet. When we got there we ran into the Shumates!

One of the first animals Ava learned was elephant, so I thought she would like to see the mammoth display. The display is a cast of a section of the Waco Mammoth Site underneath a glass floor, so it seems you can walk around the fossils. Sydnee and I walked onto the floor, but Ava stayed back thinking she would fall. Now that she's a little older, I think she could understand the short movie depicting the leading theory of how an entire herd of mammoths died because she was scared to go into the other exhibits. So we finished them quickly and entered the children's discovery rooms.

Here, I let Sydnee out of the stroller so she could wander around with Ava to look at the animals, play with displays and climb around. She had such a good time! Unfortunately, she has had a fever for a day or two and when her medicine wore off she just stood in the middle of the weather room and wouldn't move. So we headed home and she slept most of the rest of the day.

We were surprised to see you at the Museum too!! Your little girls are just so-- cute! We ended up staying until 1pm. The boys were hungry and tired by the time we left. You should really consider buying a membership!
